Richard Chamberlain

Like many of his colleagues, Richard Chamberlain got his start in the acting business as a stage performer. Along the way, he also co-founded his very own theater group. After a while, though, Chamberlain eventually made his way to more on-screen projects, with one of his earlier works being for an episode of Riverboat.

Through the years, the actor has garnered a high degree of praise and recognition for his career both in front of the camera and on the stage. With that said, he got his first big shot to fame, starring as the titular lead of the medical drama series Dr. Kildare. Since then, he has worked on other projects such as The Shogun, The Thorn Birds, and, more recently, Nightmare Cinema. Among all these, though, fans of 1980s movies also recognize Chamberlain as the first actor to portray the character Jason Bourne: he did so in the 1988 TV movie The Bourne Identity.
