Teri Garr
More often than not, a goal or passion for something begins with a source of inspiration. For Teri Garr, that credit definitely goes to her parents. With her father, an actor/performer/comedian, and her mother, a wardrobe mistress and dancer, Garr began her training in the arts following her mother’s footsteps: as a dancer. A few years later, after all the hard work, she finally gave acting a shot.
Of course, like many of her colleagues, Garr’s earlier works under the spotlight were mostly for minor parts and bit roles. Along with stints as a background dancer, she eventually got what she now often considers her big break when she landed the role of Roberta Lincoln in a Star Trek episode. Up until her final year in the business back in 2011, Garr has worked on projects such as The Conversation, After Hours, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Since then, she has kept a fairly low profile.
